They have a wide range of tools in place to assist companies developing these new technologies which will make an impact on society, business and the economy going forward. The tools available range from investment through to collaborations to assist with research and development. They have selected areas that have the greatest potential for boosting the UK`s growth as well as other areas they are looking to expand their reach. This particular opportunity is within their Health and Care programme investing in companies who are leading research into a range of new technologies. Providing solutions to serious health problems in the UK across a number of therapeutic areas.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the launch of a new Precision Centre of Excellence whose aim is to provide support to support the commercialisation of new technologies in this area. This role has a broad scope drawing on your business as well as scientific experience to assist with the initialisation of this new centre. Then to provide ongoing support to develop a strategy to ensure the centre is a success assisting with the development of Precision Medicines.

The responsibilities range from deciding the location of the centre, setting up the offices and laboratories through to then launching the centre and its ongoing success. Developing a business strategy that will be followed with the senior management of the centre. You will be the link between the centre and the organisation to ensure the centre is set up on time, within budget and provides support to the Precision Medicine industry.

Experience

You will need to demonstrable prior experience of working within a start-up or small organisation within Biomedical / Biotech industries with the responsibility of making commercial strategic decisions. Developing business plans, then implementing and overseeing these so that they are delivered on time, to quality and cost. Knowledge and experience of the diagnostics sector is advantageous to your application. You will need to have a deep understanding of the commercialisation of new products in a similar innovative environment.
