Salary: £26,400 per year
An established and respected house builder are looking for a highly experienced Secretary to support their Design & Technical Team based in their office in Bury St Edmunds. You’ll provide secretarial support to the regional Design & Technical Director and administration support to the department, as necessary.
Main duties:
- Typing correspondence, taking, and distributing minutes, filing and other general administrative tasks.
- Managing the Design & Technical Director’s diary and emails, making appointments and travel arrangements as necessary.
- Updating and maintaining records as appropriate.
- Collating information for various packs, such as legal packs, pre-start handover packs and NSSA packs.
- Registration of new developments with various companies (ie EON, LEBC, NHBC).
- Liaising with and tracking of Building Control and LABC certificates and issue to LABC and solicitors in time for completions.
- Issuing of drawings and technical information, as required.
- Obtaining MPAN and MPRN number from service companies and issuing to relevant parties.
- Applying for and tracking and paying for water connections and informing/issuing to relevant parties.
- Providing support, as required, to other departmental secretaries including reception.
- Attending meetings that may be necessary in performance of your duties.
- Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures.
- Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Previous sector experience would be advantageous although not essential as full training will be provided to give you an understanding of the technical aspects of the role. You will, however, have a solid secretarial and/or administration background with experience of supporting a department head and the wider team.
Successful applicants will be comfortable working in a busy department and be team orientated with a pro-active approach. You’ll posses all the core skills to be a high functioning Secretary; accuracy and attention to detail, organised with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines, juggling multiple tasks at any one time, good communication skills at all levels, and advanced IT knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
