Electrical Design Engineer

Role: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Commutable from Poole, Bournemouth, Blandford Forum, Southampton, Dorchester and surrounding areas
Salary: £33,600 – £38,400+ pension + overtime + 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, Pension scheme matching employee contributions up to a maximum of 5% of basic salary, Life Assurance (after qualifying period) + free parking.
Hours: Mon – Fri, finish around lunch-time on Fridays.

Responsibilities

Working within a team of 9 Engineers, you will be working and assigned to a range of short/medium term projects across machinery, more specifically electrical controls and pneumatics. The role will be relatively hands on as you will be heavily involved throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring your designs are meeting expectations and standards.

Other:
•Create functional design specifications.
•Manage revision control of documentation.
•Create parts list and manage machine build specification.
•Work with mechanical design engineers to ensure consistent designs.
•Work with Electricians to ensure machines are completed to designs.
•Manage version control of drawings.
•Report back to management with progress and possible improvements.
•Feed time scales back to management team for costing and scheduling.
•Customer support with electrical issues.
•Systems and documentation development for manuals and training.

Design Software Used: Solidworks and ElecWorks

Requirements

•Qualified in Electrical and Electronic Engineering – HNC/HND, Degree preferred
•5 + years electrical design experience
•Electrical Controls design experience
•Design machinery or equipment preferable
