Setting Out Engineers

We have an exciting opportunity for a Setting Out Engineers to work throughout London.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure that all structures and infrastructure works are set out in accordance with the construction drawings and customer specifications.

*Controlling initial setting out
*Carrying out construction checks and ensure built product is to quality expected by the main contractor
*Liaise with site teams and management regarding project changes
*Accurately set out all items detailed in project construction specifications and within defined tolerances
*Ensure all items are recorded accurately
*Promote and implement safe working practices on site at all times * Work with senior project team to identify ways to improve project execution and drive efficiency

As a Setting Out Engineer for our client, you will be driven by attention to detail, quality of output, customer satisfaction, health & safety and delivering results.

There is a flat hourly rate for this role dependent on Experience.

Skills Required

*Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
*Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
*Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
*Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
*Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
*Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Understands Permit to Dig System
*Environmental awareness
*Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
*Able to report issues with control and information provided
*Reads and understands drawings and schedules
*Understands Activity Control Plans and production of resultant information for handover file
*Strong understanding of construction tolerances
*Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents
*Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works
*Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
*Knowledge of specification and contract documents
*Understands what constitutes additional works
