Domestic General/ Cleaner

Required to provide an agreed standard of cleanliness within a care environment including an establishment providing support to disturbed children. Able to carry out a specified schedule of cleaning requirements involving, but not limited to, the daily cleaning of toilets and bathrooms, vacuuming and washing floors, washing windows, general dusting, cleaning sinks and emptying bins. Other tasks will include cleaning bedrooms, communal areas, offices and checking water temperatures. Required to assist at meal times serving meals and clearing/resetting tables. Must be able to interact with children and adults communicating in a gentle and reassuring manner. Requirement to adopt a flexible approach, changing work schedule at short notice, ability to use initiative and work unsupervised and support other staff in taking messages etc. Must have experience of cleaning in a domestic setting and an understanding of the need for good working practices and adherence to COSHH regulations. Must be non-discriminatory and non-judgemental.

NOTE: General Assistant may be required to accompany residents as an escort to appointments. CRB check required.

Criteria-

1. Must have 5 years checkable references
2. Previous experience in general domestics/ care or similar
3. Immediately available and flexible
