Full Time Monday to Friday
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Material Controller. You will possess excellent communication skills: written and verbal, and must be able to communicate effectively with people at various levels in an organisation. Experience in a modern production environment associated with continuous improvement methods would be an advantage. Able to achieve regular/routine tasks on time.
Main Duties
* Receive goods from suppliers into the ‘Goods In’ area and ‘Book In’ using the ERP system
* Despatch goods to appropriate locations, sign each line of the delivery note to verify that the quantity was correct
* Manage the Shortage & Non Conformance Reporting (NCR) databases, Input Materials data for the purposes of monitoring supplier performance
* Act promptly to deal with any shortage and Non Conformance Reporting (NCR) issues as necessary; liaise with Supply Chain Team to resolve, and establish time frame for action
* Manage shortages
* Manage all NCR to the supplier
* Work with Production Team Leaders on a daily basis to determine priorities against delivery performance
* Assist in efficiency and process improvement projects linked to the Materials function
* Undertake cycle counting as and when required in conjunction with the Cycle Count process
* Investigate invoice queries to resolution
* To support customer orders as required
CV Must show:
* Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of inventory management and the concept and application of lean strategies in supply chain management. This should include: Kanban, JIT, MRP/MPS, Inventory control and ERP systems
* Must possess a minimum of GCSE or equivalent level qualifications (grade A-C) in both English Language and Maths
* Must be computer literate and have basic working knowledge of Lotus Notes (or alternative e-mail based system), Microsoft Office and Glovia (or alternative ERP)
* Exceptional organisational skills, positive attitude, able to prioritise, self-motivated, evidence of track record of working on own initiative and achieving regular/routine tasks on time
* Able to respond quickly and effectively under pressure to changing priorities and schedules
* Able to build stable and useful working relationships
* Able to communicate effectively face to face and in writing with people at various levels in an organisation
