Transport Planner

Transport Planner Vacancy in Swindon

Our client are a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing high quality professional advice and services. They act for many of the UK’s leading housebuilders, land developers, national and international commercial and retail companies, central and local government, as well as private individuals.
Their specialist transportation consultants and infrastructure design engineers work closely together to provide a seamless service to clients throughout the construction industry. From initial appraisals, studies and assessments for planning applications, through to detailed design, construction and project supervision, they offer cost effective practical solutions.
We are seeking highly motivated Transport Planners as Project Managers with appropriate experience and qualifications.

Basic Requirements:-
· Graduate with good transport planning or similar related degree
· Able to manage projects on a day-to-day basis
· Skilled in preparation of transport assessments
· Professionally qualified or working towards qualification
· Able to communicate in English to a high level of proficiency (written and spoken word)
· Team player
· Good time management and able to work to deadlines
· Clean driving licence

Specific Requirements:-
· Working knowledge of basic transport modelling tools (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, TRICS, TRANSYT and LINSIG)
· General understanding of more complex transport modelling tools (e.g. SATURN, VISSIM & S-Paramics)
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint)
· Proficient in basic highway design (geometry, visibility, capacity) sufficient to be able to appreciate possible implications of such criteria when providing advice or preparing reports
