Transport Planner

OnPoint Recruitment are currently seeking a transport planner for a well known haulier based in Leyland. This is a very success full family run business

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·Planning and co-ordinating transport

·Liaising with drivers, customers, and suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective deliveries

·Producing driver paperwork and worksheets as required

·Pricing & quoting

·Inputting orders onto computer system and producing relevant paperwork

·Maintaining spreadsheets for reporting purposes

·Maintaining good working relationships with colleagues

·Proactive involvement with day to day planning and logistics

·Co-ordinating vehicle maintenance

·Maintaining good communication with Management

The ideal candidate would preferably have previous experience in some of the following;

·Previous experience of route planning in general haulage or similar environment

·Experience with multi-drop

·Computer literate with strong MS Office

·Ability to keep up with a changing load plan and make quick decisions when changes are needed

You will need to:

·Work well under pressure and on own initiative

·Ability to challenge and question for improvement existing processes

·Flexible approach to working hours

·Strong communicator and people skills

Hours:

Week 1 Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:30

Week 2 Monday – Friday 09:00 – 18:00

Week 3 Monday – Friday 06:00 – 03:00

1 night each week apart from week 2 on call

Saturday 07:00 – 13:00 and on call weekend
