Senior Finance Officer
Our Client is currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer who will be responsible for the financial health of the Company. The selected candidate will be responsible for producing financial reports, developing strategies, policies and procedures. In addition they will be responsible for guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term. The Senior Finance Officer will have excellent attention to detail, be energetic, flexible and works well with minimum supervision and tight deadlines. You will be required to provide finance support to office members and the management team at residential homes.
Main Responsibilities
* To collaborate and work with the senior management team to implement the financial plans for the Company at an operational level.
* Act corporately and collaboratively to help the organisation and charity deliver all its
* projects/programmes and contracts.
* To contribute to the safeguarding policy, procedures and practice across the Company.
* To cultivate relationships with internal and external organizations including local authorities, charity & community trusts, commercial business and their representatives to support the overall aims of the Company.
* Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the Company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
* To oversee the finance department and managing finance assistant.
* Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
* To seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the Company.
* To review financial data and prepare monthly/ annual reports and present them to management.
* To manage the Company’s bank accounts and Xero account.
* To upload and publish invoices to receipt bank.
* To reconcile accounts at month end.
Experience
* Degree in Business Finance/Accounting
* Specialist knowledge of finance & accounting
* Experience using Xero software
* A successful track record in delivering tangible outcomes through engagement with employers and professional networks.
* Excellent people skills, the ability to influence (including with senior managers)
* Ability to professionally represent the Company/Charity and its multiple projects/programmes with external employers and professional bodies and community sector.
* Knowledge and understanding of payroll.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrable experience of writing client focused reports.
* Strong analytical, financial and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Awareness of confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations.
In addition to this, the Senior Finance Officer may be required to undertake additional duties and responsibilities required by the Company in order to contribute to its successful delivery. The Senior Finance Officer may be asked to work flexibly which may require additional and out of hours work and an ability to travel as required for the role.
