We are currently working on our client’s behalf to recruit a Production Manager at their Rotherham based site; you will be reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager. The successful applicant will have responsibility for a paint shop; a panel producing machine shop; and an area producing sliding wardrobe doors, including glazed items. Full training will be given on products, systems and procedures.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

* Management of around 150 staff, including work performance and attendance management and mentoring

* Development of training to ensure skill grades and succession planning within the department and throughout the company

* Day to day management of labour to ensure production targets are met including the re-distribution of labour to meet internal and external customer requirements

* Logistical integration of bought-out parts into the process to ensure any secondary processes are completed in line with production requirements

* Safe systems of work and compliance with all environmental policies, ISO 9000

* Adherence to the company’s defined quality and health and safety procedures

* Co-ordination of the manufacturing process to ensure planned maintenance programs are adhered to and managed in-line with the company’s mainsaver maintenance program

To fulfil this role you must:

* Ideally be from a manufacturing background and be qualified to HNC level, ideally in engineering or chemicals

* Possess excellent organisational skills as well as being logistically minded, pragmatic and self-motivated

* Be able to work under your own initiative in a high-pressured environment, as part of a dynamic team
