Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Project Overview/Role Description
Our client, a nuclear site, are looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to add to their highly skilled team based on site at Bradwell Power Station, Essex. The role of the Senior Civil Structural Engineer is to provide engineering support and guidance to various projects that are assigned to support the entry into the Care and Maintenance phase.

Objective
The ideal candidate would be a structural civil engineer with a wealth of practical experience demonstrating pragmatic resolutions to problems encountered. Experience in Structural steelwork and cladding systems would be an necessity, the candidate would need to have on site mind set not office bound mind set. The candidate would act as the client representative whilst ensuring both statutory legislation and company standards and expectations are maintained Preparation of scope documentation, technical specifications, tender documentation and evaluation of tender returns, and provision of technical input to the project as and when required. Support project optioneering process.

Deliverables (for contract)
May be required to be involved in the preparation of associated safety case submissions quality plans, method statements, work instructions and Risk Assessments, approve as built drawings, also may be required to assist the Project Lead/Manager with their contract close outs to support the delivery of the project. Liaise and consult with system engineer as required Comply with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety Environment and Quality on Site. As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.

Essential/Desirable Skills
Some Nuclear plant experience preferred but not essential. However, experience in a practising disciplined Engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) on industrial plant would be beneficial. A working knowledge of the CDM Designer role would be an advantage. HNC/HND minimum qualification required
