Senior Integration Reporting Accountant

Would you like to work in a role supporting the new Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) line of business within the Air Sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Integration Reporting Accountant at our site in Warton.

BAES Systems Air Sector is a through-life business which delivers advanced military air capability both to our UK and many overseas customers. The new Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) line of business is focused on developing our future Combat Air capability, leveraging technologies being developed through the Tempest programme in order to secure the critical next stages of the Combat Air Acquisition Programme (CAAP).

As a Senior Reporting Integration Accountant, based within the COO and FCAS Reporting team, you will be supporting the Tempest and CAAP Finance Director and Finance team as their Integration Reporting lead on all aspects of financial performance. This includes monthly reporting, Integrated Business Plan submissions, inputs for Board presentations. In addition, as part of the COO and FCAS Reporting team you will collaborate with other integration leads to drive process improvements and efficiencies, collaborate to efficiently support requirements into Air Finance and help drive the Future of Finance agenda.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Integration Reporting Accountant will involve:

Driving the monthly reporting activities and overseeing the timetable, taking a lead role in ensuring the CAAP and Tempest Finance Director and Finance team are fully supported with all key Financial Reporting deadlines being achieved

Acting as the main point of contact representing CAAP and Tempest reporting, facilitating two way feedback with the CAAP and Tempest Finance team and assisting in responding to questions and requests from the COO and FCAS Central Reporting team and Air Reporting team

As part of the COO and FCAS Central Reporting team, collaborating with other integration leads to drive process improvements and efficiencies, supporting requirements to Air and helping drive the Future of Finance agenda

Supporting the CAAP and Tempest Finance Director and team in preparing all reporting submissions, including Monthly Financial Reporting (MFR), business variance commentary and risks & opportunities for review. Familiarity with key underlying business issues will be required to be developed

Ensuring accurate management information is reported through to the monthly Board packs and quarterly business reviews (QBRs), including Critical Success Factors reporting

Supporting the monthly & quarterly Balance Sheet review, ensuring timely and accurate completion of Balance Sheet review and update of all actions

Co-ordinating and assisting with the collation, analysis and review of Half Year and Year End statutory reporting information and variances, including robust commentaries

Co-ordinating of Governance activities within the CAAP and Tempest Finance team, ensuring inputs to Air UK processes and follow up of actions, supporting with process improvements (ensuring that the norm is constantly challenged) and supporting all business improvement activities

Supporting the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process, including assisting with preparation of reporting packs, schedules and timetables, as well as reviewing of IBP data and submissions, challenging and querying submissions as required, and consolidation for reviews

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential Skills:

Fully qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA

A level of business acumen, with focus on improvements

Ability to prioritise; ability to manage workload and flexibility to achieve deadlines

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate with different people

Advanced Excel skills and understanding of accounting standards

Evidence of producing accounts and Management information

Experience working with Board packs and balance sheets

Desirable Skills:

Prior experience in a reporting role would be preferred

Experience of TM1 (Reporting tool) and Hyperion (HFM) desirable but not essential

Salary: 43,268 +
