Job Title- Managing Quantity Surveyor

Salary- Up to £66,000 – £72,000+ Package

My client is a leading regional civil engineering contractor who delivers high profile and complex civil engineering projects nationally and internationally.

As a result of current workload and a full order book for next year the South West region are looking to add a managing quantity surveyor on a permanent basis to the team.

Current and future workload includes heavy civil engineering schemes, highway infrastructure and maintenance, utilities framework, coastal and nuclear.

The managing quantity surveyor will be responsible for all commercial and contractual matters within the Bristol area adding commercial value to a hand full of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
– Analysis of construction estimates, order book and authorised costs.
– Understanding of production budgets, monitoring of financial performance and assessing trends.
– Appreciation of the role of risk mitigation / corporate governance.
– Managing the preparation of tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
– Delivery & management of post contract report of works to a high standard.
– Commercial management activities for all schemes / projects.
– Contractual advice and guidance on tenders.
– Mentor and develop the surveyors within the specific project team.
– Lead and manage the procurement process to maximise profit and ensure subcontract orders are placed on time and in accordance with the company policy.

Qualifications – A degree or similar technical qualification within civil engineering is preferred along with a good technical background in civils, as well as good commercial and contractual knowledge.
