Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer – Manchester

A well-established building services consultancy in Manchester has an immediate requirement for an intermediate electrical design engineer to join their design team.

You will provide technical assistance when required to project teams, produce electrical designs and ensure optimal/economic design, participate in collecting information from site and analysis of technical feedbacks, review of utilities loadings, produce Electrical Preliminary/Conceptual designs through to completion when required. produce pricing and tender MEP submission deliverables within programme and of appropriate technical details and produce participate in MEP design to complete to stage D/E.

Essential & desirable criteria
Essential
An Electrical Engineer with Building Services experience or Building Services Engineer with high technical skills in Electrical Engineering Services.
Relevant experience in Electrical Engineering design, including areas such as specification writing, calculations, equipment sizing.
A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
Excellent communication skills in writing and spoken English.
Ability to work harmoniously with multi-nationals of different cultures.
Being a good team player.
Good level of computer literacy in Windows, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Hevacomp, Microsoft packages.
Competent with Autocad.

Desirable
Practical experience preferably working in an electrical installation environment.
A good understanding and appreciation of other building services like Mechanical, public health systems, civil, structures and architecture.
Member of a relevant professional institute (MIET, CIBSE).
A good understanding and appreciation of energy modelling software, BIM, BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes.
Able to see wider picture outside own discipline in projects.
Competent with Revit.
