Trainee Design Engineer, Hull, up to £26,000
Our client is a design to manufacture company who are going from strength to strength.
Having been established for many years, this company continues to grow and as a result they have an opportunity for a Trainee Design Engineer to join their team.
This really is a rare opportunity as our client is looking to train a college leaver or a graduate to become a Mechanical Design Engineer. The reason this is a unique opportunity is because the post is open to college leavers as well as graduates. The minimum requirement is an ability to use CAD therefore we would also welcome applications from candidates who are working in a manual role, using cad but are looking to progress; you just need to have a great attitude and a desire to progress.
The role of Trainee Design Engineer is to work in the drawing office training in design manufacturing processes and product development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Trainee Design Engineer
- Learning how to create 3d models leading to 2d manufacturing and assembly drawings and accurate bills of materials (list of raw materials and components)
- Assisting with the design and calculation of simple components
- Amending/updating drawings as a result design changes and improvements
- Assisting with the production of sales drawings for customer enquiries
- Occasional involvement in R+D projects
- Liaison with the shop floor during production of the job
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience using CAD
- A great attitude and a willingness to learn
