Job purpose:
To lead on organisational compliance with all legislation, regulations and best practice relating to the governance and management of information, and to ensure that appropriate business continuity arrangements are established and embedded in the organisation.
Principal Accountabilities:
*To provide advice to all parts of the organisation with respect to compliance with applicable legislation and regulations concerning the governance, management and maintenance of data, information or records.
*To lead on the development of organisational policies & procedures, guidance notes and templates relating to Information Governance and Business Continuity, and to promote awareness and good practice at all levels of the organisation.
*To instigate or assist investigations into breaches of statutory duties, or breaches of company policies relating to Information Governance, and undertake or advise on remedial action or other measures as may be required under the Company Code of Conduct or other policies.
*To report on any incidents relating to information governance to internal stakeholders and regulators as required, to ensure that organisational reputation and interests are protected.
*To engage with internal and external stakeholders, in particular the Information Commissioner’s Office, and local and national government or executive agencies.
*To oversee key compliance processes arising from legislation or policy.
*To develop an information management strategy for the organisation, in collaboration with the relevant colleagues, with particular regard to information lifecycle and long-term records management.
*To lead on the development of a business continuity framework which ensures that operational business continuity plans are established in accordance with applicable legislation, best practice, and the contractual requirements of Commissioners.
*To ensure that processes are put in place to ensure that business continuity plans are reviewed and tested as appropriate
*Achieve the highest standards of safeguarding, whether through direct care provision or support activities to the children and youths who come into contact with our services, or by appropriately reporting concerns about any child.
*To promote equality, inclusion, respect and fairness and where applicable to manage diversity in all areas of planning and service delivery, through an active involvement in implementing our equality and diversity policy
*To be familiar with and comply with Health & Safety procedures and policy. In the event of any serious risk, take immediate action to reduce this risk and inform line management

*Such other duties that occasionally arise, which fall within the purpose of the post
*To work cross functionally with other departments and countries to ensure that company values and strategic objectives are achieved.
Person Specification:
*Good working knowledge of the legal frameworks applicable to information security and business continuity (including Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and the Civil Contingencies Act 2004) and their application.
*Effective written and verbal communications skills and ability to convey complex information in writing or through presentations, to a range of audiences.
*Thorough understanding of records management principles and practice.
*Ability to manage challenging workloads and priorities appropriately.
