Care & Education Support Worker

Due to our on-going success and our plans for continuous development, we are recruiting for Care & Education Support Worker to join our Care & Education Teams at Woodstock House in Surbiton, Surrey.

Woodstock House is a stunning property, set in 8 acres of tranquil grounds. Here, we provide exceptional care and education to children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

This job is a Part Time Role Term Time Only. During the Kisimul Term Time you will be working Monday to Friday, 10:30 – 14:00 per day.

About The Job:

Reporting to the Senior Residential Support Worker’s and Senior Classroom Assistants the Care & Education Support Worker will be required to assist with transitioning pupils to and from school, supporting the pupils in the classroom and throughout the lunchtime period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the pupils by supporting a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate & stimulating activities whilst acting as a consistent and caring role model at all times.
• Support the pupils in managing their own behaviours. Encourage them to become as independent as possible within their own capabilities by using the skills and approved approaches outlined in your training.
• Communicate with the pupils in the method appropriate to them such as, Makaton or the use of PECS.
• Support with domestic duties to maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment.
• Assist the pupils with all personal care needs as outlined in their Individual Pupil
Care Plan (IPCP)
• Assist in the development and modification of educational materials and resources required by individual pupils
• Help maintain a clean, tidy and well organised classroom, preparing and presenting displays of pupils’ work as required.
• Do everything possible to protect the pupils from any form of abuse following the Safeguarding policy and procedure.
• Attend Care & Education Meetings and where appropriate, read minutes and keep up to date with all developments.

Essential Experience Skills & Qualifications

• Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
• Experience of providing care and support to adults, young adults or children.
• To have good oral and written communication skills
• Be computer literate.
• Ideally have Experience of working with adults with disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour

Remuneration Package

The successful applicant will be offered a remuneration package that will consist of an hourly rate of £26,000 per year as well as comprehensive training and other company benefits such as; Pension, Life Assurance, Child Care Voucher Scheme and not to forget our Stunning Work Locations.
