Vacancy: Warehouse Assistant / Forklift Driver

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm

Salary: up to £27,600per annum, full time permanent position

Start: ASAP

Our client, in the Portsmouth area, is looking for an experienced warehouse assistant to join a small team of staff in their business.

This is an exciting time to join this flourishing business who are going through a good period of growth.

The warehouse assistant will work in conjunction with the team and will be responsible for:

Daily activities of the warehouse, including management of the workspace, logistics, deliveries, and customer service.
Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
Look after all inbound deliveries including stock control, quality control, unload containers, unload pallet deliveries
Look after all outbound deliveries ensuring goods are picked, packed and loaded ready for delivery
Adhere to all warehousing and handling legislation requirements.
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
Operate machinery such as Fork Lift Truck (counterbalance) or Pallet Trucks other similar items where required to safely move goods around.

Requirement:

2-4 years previous warehouse experience preferred
Should have Forklift (counterbalance) driving experience
Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
Dependable and Reliable
Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required

A solid career history in warehouse operations is required with current or recent warehouse experience.

The ideal candidate will have great initiative, happy to work in a small team, be punctual and reliable and be capable of working in a physical role.

Starting salary: up to £27,600 per annum + benefits + potential bonus
