Editor (Digital / Online)

My client based in prestigious offices in Newcastle City Centre, is looking for an experienced and talented Editor to revolutionise editorial content on their highly respected website. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with an impeccable reputation.

Role Objective

* To take editorial control of the website content.
* To plan, execute and manage the acquisition and engagement of a high quality online audience through the provision of forward thinking digital first content.
* To increase repeat traffic to the site and grow revenues through native advertising and content marketing.

Key Skills

* Degree Qualified
* Background in digital journalism
* Strong understanding of the architecture and construction sectors and topical issues
* Significant experience of editorial planning, content commissioning, editing and sub-editing
* Strong understanding of the broader digital landscape, SEO, social, analytics and content marketing

Responsibilities

* Creation of digital content strategy for website – focussed on the delivery of high-value engaged audience and delivering measurable benefits for the business and the customer
* Familiarisation with current website and assessment of effectiveness to inform future strategy
* Creation of key assets including programmatic content plan, content calendar, and authoring guides
* Planning, editing & commissioning of content designed to engage the audience, drive eyeballs, advertising revenues and product leads.
* Ensure successful integration and prominence of native advertising to drive advertiser, whilst complementing overall user experience.
* Work with the senior team to define the boundaries between free, free registered and paid-for content
* Align the website digital content plan with those relevant
* Work with the wider team to plan and implement content marketing strategies designed to drive revenue for the company products and services.
* Set the standards for content on the website, and take responsibility for accuracy, timeliness and ability to respond to events
* Work with team to share knowledge on best practice approaches to generating web-based content designed to deliver results

Benefits

* Salary: £36,000 – £48,000Depending on experience
* Hours: 35 per week Monday – Friday 9 – 5
