Electronics Systems Engineer – Full lifecycle
This is an immediate requirement for a Systems Engineer to work on the development of new a system combing both hardware and software components.
A great opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to work for a leading Electronics Engineering company in the Newport area. This Systems Engineer role will be developing a standalone training system being developed in house. Your role will cover the complete Engineering life cycle with a good degree of self management.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar environment
Although based in the Newport area, this role is commutable from Bristol, Gloucester and Cardiff

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities for this Systems Engineer role
– The successful candidate will be a competent and rounded Systems Engineer with experience of working on complex systems coupled with an understanding, or demonstrable ability, to apply their expertise to the land platform domain and/or training simulator systems.
– Reporting to the System Architect and working with System Engineers within the Systems Engineering delivery team, the principal duties are:
– Provision of Systems Engineering input both Internally to GD With external suppliers
– Engineering design development
– Develop system behaviours Sub-System Requirements development and compliance
– Use Cases, sequence diagrams, constraints etc. using SysML
– Validation of Sub-System design against requirements
– Interface management
– Collection and analysis of system metrics
– Baseline and Change management – causes for changes in the system & developing balanced solutions
– Delivery of written reports
– Reporting of progress against tasks
Requirements for this Systems Engineer role
– Previous experience in complex projects
– System design and development in complex hardware and software systems
– Application of formal System Engineering analysis tools
– Use of SysML or UML modelling tools (e.g. IBM Rational Rhapsody)
– Use of Requirement Management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS)
– Validation of design and problem solving
– Proven experience in working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist domain teams
