BACKGROUND
An Electrical Maintenance Engineer is now required by the world’s largest manufacturer of high-technology cables and systems for energy and telecommunications. Working to a continuous shift pattern, with necessary overtime, and responding to plant breakdown situations with quick and effective diagnosing of faults, whilst completing preventative maintenance inspections and implementing action plans to stop reoccurring faults, the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be a Time served engineer to give a sound foundation in all aspects of engineering specialising in Electronic discipline, but with a grounding in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines He/she will be a strong team worker with good communication skills, organised and the ability to prioritise with confidence.
This is a demanding role requiring excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise with absolute confidence
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnosing and fault finding on industrial plant and machinery.
Design, installation and commissioning of industrial plant and machinery.
Developing and implementing strategies to facilitate improved plant production availability.
Working closely with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues to improve the efficiency of production plant, with adherence to Health & Safety and financial constraints.
Reporting to Management with responsibility for ensuring production efficiency.
Ability to communicate effectively under pressure must be attained at all times.
Designing and installing and commissioning plant and machinery to improve production efficiency.
Ability to safely move and handle plant and machinery using appropriate equipment/techniques.
Good practical understanding and proven experience of Enviromental and Health & Safety regulations in the work place.
SHIFT PATTERN
4 on 4 off shift. This shift pattern requires individuals to work 4 days from 6am to 6pm, have 4 days off, work 4 nights 6pm to 6am and then have 4 days off before the shift repeats itself. Due to the training requirements, the successful candidate’s first three months of service will be spent doing a 2 shift which is a day’s shift before they move on to 4 on 4 off shift.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
PLC, Instrumentation and Electronic drives competence and proven experience.
of maintenance on AC and DC motors up to 800kw.
Risk assessment and safety awareness, Guarding of machinery legislation awareness.
Water treatment and process water maintenance legislation awareness.
5S,TQM and TPM quality experience.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word.
Ability to communicate via drawings e.g. ECAD experience.
Purchasing and machine management software awareness.
Carry out Mechanical disciplines to a basic level.
Minimum of BTEC ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or proven experience.
EITB Certificate of Craftsmanship or proven experience.
NVQ 3 or proven experience.
