Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

Our client is a privately run and directed construction main contractor based near Ilford, Essex. They are keen to employ and experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer with the following:
Salary 50 – 60K neg based on experience
Benefits Pension, BUPA, Car Allowance/Business Mileage, Life Cover, Death Benefit, 26 Days Annual Leave
Based Head Office (Woodford Green)
Reporting to: Divisional Manager
Experience • Must be qualified to at least HND level

• Have a minimum of 10/15 years experience in building services through consultancy/contracting

• A comprehensive knowledge of current building regulations including gas & water regulations

• A sound knowledge of renewables including solar, heat pumps (air, ground & water)

• A sound knowledge of combined heat & power systems

The Role • To assist in negotiations and development of tenders

• To assist operational teams by carrying out technical checks on proposed sub-contractors BEFORE they are appointed to make sure that they are technically competent to carry out the work

• Attend progress and technical meetings as an advisor to the operational teams

• Check gas, electrical and other services related certification is compliant

• To manage the site inspection reporting system and provide regular reports to the operational teams

• To provide advice and support to ensure that design and installations meets legislative and health and safety requirements

• To liaise closely with in-house and external designers providing advice and guidance on practical aspects of mechanical and electrical installations

• Monitor (not supervise) sub-contractors mechanical and electrical works
• To investigate and resolve technical issues put forward by the operational teams on the various contracts in hand
• Advising on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
• To provide regular reports to your Manager on progress and status of the various activities and works being undertaken
• To perform any other reasonable duties requested by your Manager
• To check design submissions from consulting engineers & contractors

• To check specifications tender and working drawings etc. on projects and give advice to delivery teams
