Warehouse Operative / Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative with the possibility of promotion to Supervisor working for a manufacturing company based in Leeds. The Main Purpose of the role is work alongside current employees setting a good example with the end goal of becoming the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

* To work along side Warehouse Operatives and Saw Men to achieve aims

* To contribute to the achievement of team objectives through the communication and implementation of key results areas (KRA’s) and periodic group target setting within the team.

* Responsible for the accurate, timely, collation and recording of performance information and the completion of quality tests ensuring results are effectively communicated to team members and line managers.

* Ensure that the team adhere to safe working practices and good house keeping. Involved in the provision of health and safety, and technical training for peer group and accident investigations as required.

* Develop a self managed team culture whilst adopting an open, visible and supportive style, taking the lead where necessary, and seeking to harmonise group cohesiveness and manage conflict.

Ideally you will be competent in the following areas –

Business Related Competencies

* Demonstrable supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* High level of knowledge of an operational environment and technical understanding of using a saw.
* A working knowledge of Health and Safety and best practice.
* Demonstrate training and coaching skills and the ability to apply develop and evaluate standard operating procedures.
* FLT Licence Desirable

General Competencies

Basic/functional skills and knowledge required to perform the job effectively.

* Achieve grade C or above in numeracy and literacy in the relevant SHL tests.
* Awareness and appreciation of production processes
* Basic IT Skills in Microsoft Office Applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Quality awareness and checking
* Demonstrate characteristics of the Key Behaviours.

In return you will receive a full time contract after 3 months, a Salary: £26,000increasing to £22000 if successfully pass the trial period.
