Solution Architect, VMWare, Cloud, Infrastructure, London, to £55k + benefits

Our client are the market leaders in delivery Business Process Outsourcing solutions across the UK, Ireland and wider European markets. Due to continuous growth they have now created a new role for a Solution Architect to sit within their Infrastructure and Platform Services division. Reporting directly to the Divisional Head of Infrastructure and based out of our clients London based offices, you will responsible for developing product specific designs to meet the agreed business requirements. The Solution Architect is also responsible for the assurance of project designs against the solution architecture.

As they key Solution Architect you will:

Define the infrastructure product/solution architecture to enable successful project delivery.
Work with the CIO Office team to ensure new / amended solutions align to the enterprise architecture.
Identify technical risks with regard to their specific technologies and identify mitigating actions.
Collaborate with Business Solution Architect and Product Managers from Change organisation to help to resolve any architectural issues or escalations.
Review third parties high level designs and implementations to ensure quality, coherence and consistency with solution architecture.
Work closely with other Project Delivery teams to determine the most appropriate solutions, taking into account cost, benefit, timescales and constraints of the environment in which the portfolio operates. Proactively identify and capitalise upon opportunities to share / re-use existing components / solutions where possible.
Support the implementation of new functionality through input to training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation.

The ideal Solution Architect must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar Solution Architect or equivalent role.
An in depth knowledge of 1 or 2 of the following as a minimum: VMWare, Storage HP/EMC, Backup Exec/Data Domain/HP, Citrix and Microsoft products including: Server/SQL, Oracle DB.
Expert understanding and thorough working knowledge of solution design and architecture industry standards.
Ability to model data using industry standards (e.g. Cause & Effect analysis with end points etc.).
Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (e.g. Agile / Waterfall) and good practice.
Excellent English communication skills both written and oral

Remuneration:

Salary: To £66,000annualised highly dependent on experience

Benefits: An excellent corporate benefits package

Bonus: 10% discretionary based on performance
