Container Transport Manager

Transport Manager (containers) – Felixstowe – £35k – £45k with car

A well known container haulier is looking for a Transport Manager to join their company and manage a well established site at Felixstowe. The current Transport Manager is retiring in early 2016 and will have at least a 1 month hand over period with the new Transport Manager.

This client delivers containers for shipping lines and agents on behalf of the retail sector around the UK.

This role would suit someone who has a min of 8 years experience in container haulage, is currently networking withhin the sector, runs at least 10 trucks and is looking for a larger operation to spend the long term in. The succesfull transport manager will also have current business development oppourtunities.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all deliveries & collections of containers around the UK
All recruitment (drivers & operations)
Business development strategy
Maintain compliance of all vehicles
Ensure profitability of all loads
Develop new and maintain business
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years experience within container haulage
Currently managing a team
Commercially astute – current contacts within industry
CPC (expected but not essential)
Current experience within container haulage

Package:

£35k – £45k – depending on experience
Car or allowance
