Development Officer – Leadership

£28,000 per annum

As Development Officer you will provide leadership, knowledge and creativity in the design and delivery of our programmes and youth leadership work, liaising with key stakeholders to maximise impact. You will help develop our youth leadership expertise by growing relationships with key networks and partners to share learning. We will look to you to use insight gained to ensure all youth leadership work demonstrates best practice and showcases the power of youth leadership to develop valuable life skills in young people. You will support school networks and partners, build alumni ‘young leader’ networks, deliver events and collaborate with stakeholders to create youth leadership content. You will also develop project plans and collaborate with colleagues to monitor the impact of programmes and collect examples of best practice to maximise our work. Important too, will be the ability to ensure that youth engagement and young people’s needs are central to our youth leadership work.

You will need to be experienced at managing programmes or supporting multiple, long term and complex projects you will have worked within the school landscape and/or the sport system where you will have gained expertise in co-ordinating work with external partners. You will possess excellent communication, planning and interpersonal skills too. Comfortable managing budgets, you will be used to producing stakeholder reporting and co-ordinating work with external partners. You will also be effective at achieving targets and responding quickly and flexibly to changing needs and tight deadlines. Knowledge of management information systems would be an advantage in this role.
