Salary: £28,800 – £36,000 per year

Process & Improvement Technician

Based in County Durham

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Shift Pattern: Permanent Nights

* Assist the Production Manager and shift leader with the smooth running of the hydraulic/pneumatic manufacturing processes and electronic/micro-processor-controlled moulding presses

* To complete 12 improvement projects and present them in a professional way along with tracking any savings and proving out the improvement is/has worked.

* Control all production scrap & downtime; record it by entering the information into the IQMS system.

* Maintain plant equipment and machinery to a high standard using planned maintenance programs and relevant systems

* Complete all press set-ups in the required time scale using the setting sheets provided.

* Carryout checks of the quality of all 1st offs before handing them to QA, also place a hold label on the parts to identify them.

* Report any tooling issues you find when completing all press set ups or during a production run.

* Monitor all weights and react to changing trends, make sure we are not giving material away. Target below nominal.

* Provide constant service to the production line, always check the quality of the parts by completing line inspections and supporting shift leader.

* Monitor IQMS closely and ensure that all machines are running at least on cycle or up to 5 seconds quicker.

* Keep scrap below 0.9% on your shift.

* Monitor real time and keep a track on planning.

* Control all tank cleaning and WIP stock

* Complete all relevant checks, Steam leak reports, machine condition, 5’s and any others given.

* Carryout checks on prepped tools when requested to prevent issues with set ups.

* Work with team members when you need support with problems or when setting sheets no longer seem to give the required results.

* Complete repairs to all plant equipment in the quickest and safest manner. Contact Technical support roles or any recommended contractor if you can’t complete a repair.

* Fault find process issues as efficiently as possible ensuring a root cause is always found and reported or fixed by yourself

* Carryout a line audit every day, monitor all procedures, Fitting standards, ensure that fits are on time and of good quality.
