One to One Recruitment are recruiting a Head of Women’s Work to join Community Works, a charity based in the beautiful market town of Thirsk. Community Works delivers a wide range of services for young people as well as to groups and services for adults and support services for older people.
The Women’s Work area of this organisation is broad and they are looking for an inspiring individual to head up their work with vulnerable women across Thirsk and North Yorkshire.
The Catalyst Project is Community Works’ specialist service that provides support to the most vulnerable women in the Hambleton and Richmondshire districts of North Yorkshire; the Head of Women’s Work will manage this aspect of the service in its entirety and will provide one to one and group sessions/activities for the women that they work with.
This is an exciting and varied role for you to really make your mark and involves the following:
- Maintaining the stability of the work into the future through effective fund-raising, establishing appropriate ‘paid for’ contracts, successful grant applications and other means, at all times having a minimum of six months or reserves/project costs & plans
- Continue with the growth of the team of volunteers in liaison with the Operations Manager & helping to maintain an appropriate social media presence
- Providing a consistently high standard of reports to external and internal stakeholders
- Identifying and working with vulnerable women from across the community, who would benefit from peer mentor support
- Facilitating & delivering effective life coaching sessions in employment, volunteering, education or training
- Supporting the recruitment, induction and training of volunteer mentors.
- Attending and support networking meetings and external meetings as required.
- Developing and building a strong network of referral partners for the service.
The successful Head of Women’s Work will have;
Experience in women’s work, perhaps a qualified counsellor or Life Coach, compassionate and generous, driven by a strong set of values. You may even have run a service before, or always wanted to!

Salary: £31,953.6 FTE, 30 Hours per week, plus benefits package which includes 5% contrib. pension, 28 days holiday + one day for every full year worked up to 5 years & cycle to work scheme
