Leading Main Contractor Seeks Senior Site Manager to join their business on large project in Edinburgh.

Your new role
As Senior Site Manager on this project you will be responsible for the operational elements of the construction of a large commercial development in Edinburgh. With a strong team behind you and reporting upwards to a PM you will direct and organise all activities onsite ensuring the programme is achieved for project completion. From motivating and managing your site team to forming positive and productive relationships with your subcontractor base you will be the key person on this project defining its relative success or failure.
This project in city centre in nature with complex site planning and logistics to be allowed for so this project will challenge and stimulate you and allow you to fully deploy all of your years of construction experience and achievements.
What you’ll need to succeed
This project is a large urban environment project with multiple buildings and facings so it will require an experienced construction site manager with experience of delivering similar projects successfully in the past. You will have excellent all round construction knowledge from managing complex piling packages to understanding how to effectively utilise and deploy cranes and lifting equipment. There will also be high end finishing required on tight deadlines so experience of working in a commercial or hospitality new build projects will be essential. Ideally you will be from a trade background and have taken your education further over time with perhaps a degree completed or membership achieved of construction and industry bodies.
The ideal candidate is currently working for another tier 1 or tier 2 contractor who perhaps is unsure of their next project and wishes to remain working in Edinburgh. This is a 2 year project and our clients sector focus guarantees further work in Edinburgh subsequent to this.
