AutoCAD Engineer

Salary: £360 – £384 per day

This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a strong technical background and demonstrable experience in the production of 3D drawings and models from within the construction, civil /structural engineering, or infrastructure sectors.

Due to the company’s continued ambitious growth plans and a significant forward order workload of contracts, our client wishes to appoint an AutoCAD Engineer. Offering a mixture or remote working – working from home and nominally based in the company’s head office just outside Luton, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team on a wide range of challenging projects. You will provide full AutoCAD support to numerous in house teams, which will require you to produce engineering drawings and models largely in 3D, based on given designs and specifications of work scopes, which will ensure compliance with client’s key contract drivers or specific project requirements.

The Role

• Create 3D drawings and models as required with minimal supervision utilising AutoCAD
• Produce 3D visualisation and geospatial files which can be used for projects and presentations
• Ensure all work produced meets the required company standards and client expectations
• Ensure completion of all assigned tasks within agreed timescales
• Regularly liaising with managers, lead technical staff, engineers and clients
• Assist with data input (such as co-ordinating setting out drawings and schedules)
• Maintain and develop a strong client focus in the timely provision of accurate drawings and models, and ensure these are issued to sites, internal teams or clients in a prompt and correct fashion
• Take a responsible and pro-active role in communicating with both internal and external stakeholders
• Responsible for efficient use of resources and equipment at all times, and ensure that the work you produce is consistently in line with the required quality standards
• Play an integral part of the team by assisting and supporting the needs of others

The Person

• Demonstrable experience in a fast-paced working environment or similar role carrying out the above responsibilities, with exposure to the aforementioned sectors and projects
• Advanced experience in the use of AutoCAD
• Experience within any area of the aforementioned areas would be a distinct advantage, however a good level of experience within the civil engineering, infrastructure or building and construction sectors would also be very attractive 
• Possess commercial awareness, be highly organised by nature and able to use your own initiative
• Confident, articulate, punctual, diligent, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Offer the ability to adapt and amend your workload priorities in a regularly changing environment
• Be a natural team player, with a positive and friendly attitude, and be self-sufficient with minimal supervision required
