Job Title – Early Years Practitioner

Grade – 3 t5, depending on experience

Pay – from £26,000 per year, plus highly competitive benefits scheme

Reports t– Assistant Manager

Working hours – 40 hours per week, varied shifts, 1 evening staff meeting per month

Nursery Practitioner Responsibilities:

The key area of responsibility for a Nursery Practitioner Level 2 or 3 includes but is not limited to:

* Key worker ta group of children aged between 3 months and 5 years old
* Responsible for all care needs of these children such as sleeping & toileting.
* Planning a wide range of activities in line with these children’s ages and interests
* Delivering these activities professionally, and assessing children’s development effectively based on their participation
* Communicating information about the children’s’ day at nursery, and their wider developmental progress with their parents/carers
* Alongside colleagues, ensure the smooth running of the nursery, under the direction of the assistant manager
* Collaboratively supervising all children while they are engaged in child led play
* Ensuring the nursery remains clean, and that resources are tidied away when not being used
* Supporting colleagues in conducting adult led activities with children
* Effectively managing meal times, ensuring that children are fed and cleaned as appropriate

Essential Skills of Nursery Practitioner:

* Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work with young children and their families in a sensitive and positive way
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* DBS (Disclosure Barring Service)
