Circa £36,000 per annum + 33 days A/L + Pension (Salary dependent upon qualifications and/or experience)
The Client:
Our client is a leading global manufacturing organisation.
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrument Technician to join them on a full time basis to provide first hand technical diagnostics in regards to any maintenance problems.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and complying with HSE requirements including safety policies and procedures
• Participating in HSE Audits
• Carrying out assigned SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner
• Carrying out electrical and instrument repairs, modifications, plant upgrades, installation and commissioning
• Conducting hazardous area inspections and repairs ensuring all hazardous area equipment complies with the statutory requirements and the appropriate British Standards are maintained
• Carrying out maintenance and proof testing on Safety Instrumented Systems
• Carrying out maintenance on Medium and Low voltage installations and general electrical systems across the site
• Carrying out calibrations and functional testing of instrumented systems
• Carry out problem solving and diagnostic checks on electrical and instrument systems.
• Carrying out work, which is outside core skill and in line with agreement in force relating to multi-skilling
• Accepting and handing back of PTWs
• Carrying out work in compliance with cGMP standards
• Receiving and collecting stores materials as required
• Conducting inspections and carrying out preventative maintenance activity
• Completing small projects as defined by area engineer
• Developing maintenance procedures
• Training apprentices, craftsmen and operators as required
• Working closely with the production and manufacturing functions and teams ensuring an effective maintenance service
The Individual:
The successful candidate will be apprentice trained within an Electrical or Instrumentation background and qualified to ONC or equivalent.
You will have the ability to understand schematic and wiring diagrams as well as a sound understanding of GMP, DSEAR and ATEX. Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial in order to carry out essential requirements of the role.
A working knowledge of instrumentation systems such as mass, temperature, pressure, level and flow would be ideal and COMPEX training would be advantageous.
