Salary: £26,000 per year

Vacancy – Stores & Consumables Person.
Location – Bradford
Salary: £26,000hr Plus Overtime, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Production Engineering – Stores and Consumables person
A key and exciting role within a thriving business, you will have the ability to make the job your own which will require someone with a keen eye for detail, self – motivated, highly driven and the ability to keep accurate records and control over all engineering parts and consumables from gearboxes, motors and bearings through to nuts, bolts and grease, and everything in between.

The aims and objectives are to list all spares and consumables on site, list these on a shared excel spreadsheet including identification of the item, size and type, amount in stock, supplier contact details, cost per unit and location of item. An accurate data base must be developed and kept up to date to control the engineering stocks so as not to run out of essential parts etc. A weekly stock take is to be completed to ensure stock is maintained at the agreed levels and the data updated to reflect this.

The candidate will need to order all items through the purchasing and supply department and will also need to keep a list of suppliers and contact details in the event of having to order any parts direct..

The role also has a requirement for the candidate to be flexible and hands on to help with labouring/helping the skilled engineers should the need arise. This means that the position is not an office based one but one where it will require the candidate to get their hands dirty.
The hours will be Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm with and annual salary of £26,000hour plus overtime should the need arise through emergency breakdowns. 28 days Holiday per year to be agreed with engineering manager prior to taking leave.

Essential skills & Experience:
Excel/data base development and input of information
Working within a stores goods in/out environment
Communication and ordering of engineering parts/consumables
Working hands on in a production environment
Basic knowledge of Health and Safety

Desirable skills but not essential:
Engineering, fitting or electrical experience
Typical work activities
Listing all parts, spares and consumables used within the engineering department
Keeping accurate records of all parts and consumables used through a self-developed excel spreadsheet
Ordering of parts, spares and consumables through the purchasing department
Ability to build a relationship with key suppliers, contacts and purchasing department and be able to record and keep contact names and details
Development of excel spreadsheets to document and control movement of parts, spares and consumables including a booking in/booking out procedure
Available to help with labouring with the skilled engineering department
Ensuring all Health and Safety practices are adhered to at all times including

fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly;
liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues;
arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components;
monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
dealing with emergencies being able to labour alongside skilled engineers on unplanned problems and repairs;

This is a role described as Temp to Perm, leading to a Permanent position on successful completion of the probation period.

This role requires you to be available immediately. With start date approximately 2 weeks away from 25th May. 2016 but could be sooner.
