Infotainment Telematics Engineer

INFOTAINMENT AND TELEMATIC STRATEGY ENGINEER – Birmingham

Our global Automotive client require an Infotainment and Telematic Strategy Engineer to define and develop future international markets infotainment and telematics strategies that keep pace with the rapidly changing technology and features within the European market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Responsible for the planning and delivery of the ICE (In Car Entertainment), Telematics & and future Intelligent Transport System strategies for existing and future international market vehicle platforms.
– Responsible for providing specialist support and reports into UK senior management and the global China engineering team on European vehicle features trends, ICE strategies and consumer electronic trends that have an impact onto the vehicle styling.
– Research into the effect of the growing consumer electronic devices and the impact onto vehicle design and features within the International markets.
– Development of strategies and systems for International market Telematic related systems including ITS, mobile data, eCall, and intelligent vehicle technologies and report back to UK and China Senior management.
– Attend international conferences and report back finding to UK and China senior management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

– Significant engineering experience within a Component or Vehicle Engineering function
– Significant knowledge and experience of vehicle based telematic and ICE systems including ITS.
– A sound specific component and system knowledge with a broad understanding of vehicle integration and the overall Vehicle delivery process, or good knowledge of whole vehicle engineering delivery and integration.
– A wide experience of supplier technical appraisal, nomination, liaison and component delivery management.
– Good IT skills & experience of appropriate software applications (Excel, MS Project etc.)
