We are working exclusively with a hotel based 20 minutes from York City Centre, who are recruiting at the CDP level currently to join their strong kitchen team. You would be working under the Head & Sous Chef and catering for guests of the hotel along with private contracts in the immediate area. The hotel itself is commutable from York, Thirsk & Malton and offers free live in on site for chefs who are looking to relocate. We are looking for a chef who is passionate, willing to learn and fits in well with the current team needing to be comfortable catering for al a carte as well as functions across breakfast, lunch & dinner. The menus at the venue are produced seasonal and sourced locally where applicable and the Head Chef is keen to let the team in put into the growth of the menu. This role would suit a chef looking to progress their career and step up along with someone wanting to move to a larger venue.

Role:

• Preparation and service across all menu items and service times
• Be under the guidance of the Head & Sous Chef
• Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH Requirements
• Ensure good communication throughout the kitchen department
• Attend meetings as requested by management
• Be actively involved in the management of stock and staff alongside the Senior kitchen team
• Working in conjunction with the team with events & conferences
• To train & supervisor junior team members

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and COSHH
• Similar work experience
• Relevant Catering Qualifications including NVQ & Food Safety
• Good levels of communication and spoken English
