Salary: £30,187 – £36,044 per year

Prestige Recruitment Specialists work with a variety of Public Sector establishments across the UK. We are now looking to recruit an MIS Business Analyst to work within an FE setting based near Elland, Halifax.

This is a permanent role and is to start as soon as possible.

Job Purpose
Create reports and data from College information systems which will inform the leadership and administration processes at all levels in the organisation and meet the needs of external agencies when required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Use SQL/SSRS and other relevant software to write and develop dynamic reports from a range of MIS databases, ensuring that data is readily available in a variety of formats.
Work with the Data Services team to ensure that learners are enrolled and timetabled accurately and efficiently
To create SQL tables, views and stored procedures
To work with the Data Services and Funding Manager to develop further an effective management reporting system including dashboards
To ensure that information for stakeholders are relevant to their needs, is available on time and is straightforward to understand and use
Manage requests for ad hoc reports and systematically run regular reports
Ensure personal knowledge and skills are regularly updated in line with current technological developments
Liaise with software suppliers to arrange provision of reports; ensure timely software updates and to troubleshoot issues and bugs
Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of EFA, SFA and HEFCE funding methodologies and data requirements
Provide user friendly reporting of College performance in a consistent manner by implementing formal methodology and controls in the development of reports.
Demonstrate on-going commitment to raising standards and continuous improvement, and on-going contribution to College policies and procedures
Demonstrate on-going engagement with/commitment to the College’s vision and values and to delivering against clear strategic objectives and targets, understanding your own contribution to the achievement of those targets
To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you have responsibility or come into contact with
Any other tasks and responsibilities commensurate with the role
Liaise with external schools, funding agencies, employers, managing events, awarding bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
Liasie with staff across the whole College.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

-Excellent analytical and interpretational skills, with the ability to apply, manipulate and interpret a range of complex processes / procedures / datasets
– Experience in a Further Education setting (College or University)
-Ability to present accurate, clear and concise reports
-Ability to make recommendations to inform monitoring and decision making
-Demonstrate experience of managing people and dealing with staffing issues, including effective leadership and successfully directing the work of teams, team members and technical specialists to achieve required outcomes
-Proficient in SQL, SSRS, MS Access and MS Office Suite

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

– Level 3 or equivalent in Information Management/Technology
– Demonstrable skills in SQL Server development, including T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS.

The role will suit an experienced MI Analyst who has been developing and implementing complex models and reports with strong use of SQL and MI extraction.
