Environmental Design Engineer – Newcastle

Cento are recruiting for an Environmental Design Engineer based in Newcastle.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Design Engineer to join an international multi-disciplined engineering consultancy and this role provides great opportunities for professional development and career progression, as part of a close-knit team within a growing office.

You will take responsibility for the design of exciting environmentally sustainable design projects in the UK and across the World, whilst analysing, reporting, modelling and documenting the projects, presenting them to clients across a variety of sectors with the aim of expanding the project portfolio.

The successful Environmental Design Engineer will have:

• A Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering or a Built Environmental discipline
• Proven experience in an Environmentally Sustainable Design Engineering role
• 2-3 years experience in the Building Services Consulting Industry
• Experience using the BREEAM tool and have knowledge of the UK building codes and practices.
• Experience with energy modelling software (both Thermal and HVAC) and CFD modelling (Desirable)
• Extensive experience in building simulation
• Experience using the BREEAM rating tool and have undertaken BREEAM assessments.
• Close understanding of sustainable rating tools such as LEED
• Familiar with UK building codes and practices
• Crucially – have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
• Understanding of various projects across Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Retail and Residential

Candidates must be able to work well using their own initiative and have excellent communication skills.
