Job Position: HGV Vehicle Maintenance Technician / Engineer / Mechanic

Job Status: Permanent

Job Profile: My client is looking to recruit a VMU Technician to look after the Maintenance of their Heavy Goods Vehicle fleet

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

This role will require shift work. Please only apply if this is okay with you.

A fully recognised apprenticeship within the Automotive industry is essential, ideally with HGV’s or large vehicles.

A full C+E driving license would be beneficial.

You must be able to fault fin, service and repair heavy goods vehicles.

The ability to communicate at all levels both internal and external.

The enthusiasm to keep up with changing technology, excited by change and ability to discuss and share knowledge with the rest of the team.

Be a team player, wanting to support and work as a team.

Job Description:

To maintain the fleet to a high standard whilst remaining competitive on cost.

Maintain fleet to a high standard demanded by the ministry of transport, ensuring the Health & Safety of our drivers, and protection of our operator’s licence.

Work safely, join in with planned safety inspections and safety action teams.

Carry out detailed and informed diagnostics.

Deal with breakdowns by diagnosing problem on the phone and discussing with contractor where necessary.

Keep abreast of new and changing technology.

Maintain all paperwork that is legally required.

Maintaining in-house fleet management system.

Electronic time recording system.

Basic Hours: 42 hour week – Continental Nights

Salary/Rate: Up to £42,000per annum, plus numerous benefits.
