Aerospace Manufacturing company based in Llantrisant, South Wales requires a Material Handler with Stores experience. You will work closely with Production Control to ensure the supply flow of raw materials in, reaches the machines on time and packed finished goods including kits are processed efficiently. Working within the supply chain department, the Material Handler will support Inbound / Outbound Logistics to despatch orders on time and in full to the customer.
The company has 3 other sites in the UK (employing c400 staff) and 2 in Poland manufacturing components for commercial, light aircraft and business jets. This role, based at the CNC machining factory in Llantrisant, South Wales (employing c90 staff) presents an excellent opportunity to become a key member of the supply chain team, developing the supply chain processes of this impressive company, which has recently received large investment to enable future development. Quality is paramount throughout their whole process.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential: Fork lift licence, ERP/MRP and stores experience
Desirable: Crane experience
Main duties/key tasks
– Unload and receive raw materials onto site, check paperwork matches physical consignment
– Unpacking and checking parts against internal transfer order paperwork, ready for quality inspection
– Logging items into the Syteline Data base
– Safely storing raw materials into the correct Location using a fork lift truck
– Maintaining good stores housekeeping ensuring materials are correctly labeled up
– Ensuring the correct raw materials are issued forward to machines for manufacturing at the right time
– All metals are correctly stored and safety aspects such as, banding to pallets is correctly executed
– Control the integrity of stock levels by cycle counting and stock taking storage areas
– Assisting in the makeup of finished goods into kits
Producing documentation to facilitate the dispatch of finished goods/kits
Production & Capacity Planning:
– Adopt SL8 ERP as primary planning and material management tool
Inbound logistics for the manufacturing supply chain
– Monitoring of Inbound materials and manufacturing supplied parts to ensure that Company KPI’s are achieved in accordance with the sites ongoing targets.
– Achieve Inventory targets and fulfil actions (Raw Materials & WIP) with closely with other sites, planners and purchasing
– Managing all stock coming into the site on a Just In Time (JIT) basis and liaise with production and logistics to ensure all stock is in the right place at the right time for the demands of the business.
Communication
– Report any stock anomalies to the supply chain manager
– Actively identify and report any Health and safety issues to the Production Manager
General Responsibilities
– Comply with all company policies & procedures
– Take responsibility for personal development, identify training needs and request appropriate training as required
– Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, HR Department and Quality Department to deliver appropriate standards in line with company policies
– Delivery a seamless interface with internal and external customers as required
