Salary: £48,000 – £84,000 per year
An exciting position for an Estimator has recently become available with Alandale Plant and Scaffolding. This role will suit an Estimator with construction/scaffolding experience. You will need to be able to calculate and prepare construction/scaffolding tender submissions, dealing with contract variations and quotations and calculating contract delivery cost and profit margins.
Duties will include:
* Identify tender opportunities and forward to Directors for consideration and decision.
* To provide accurate cost estimates and supporting technical information to enable the Company to submit competitive tenders.
* Estimating the type and quantity of labour, plant and materials necessary to deliver the contract against the received scope and specifications.
* Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the Buying Department in the selection of appropriate companies.
* Produce analytical rate build up information for Bills and Quantities as instructed in an accurate and well detailed format.
* Review and analyse data derived from site feedback and identify potential improvements that would give commercial advantage to the Company bids.
* Maintain regular contact with departments and provide tender update to relevant staff as and when required.
Working closely with operations and quantity surveyors the ideal candidate would also need to be methodical, attentive to detail and looking for a challenging career development opportunity. The core aim of this role is winning work for the company, so confidence and determination are essential for this role.
You will also need to have a relevant qualification in construction or estimating, with previous experience as an estimator in a construction environment. Good written and verbal skills are a must, as is the ability to assess contract conditions and apply attention to detail.
