Warehouse Leading Hand

The person will be expected to organise and supervise the efficient operation of the Warehouse area, to be able to plan and supervise work activities of the team and individuals to meet operational requirements of the business and to keep stock records up to date.
In addition they will be computer literate with a minimum of 5 years stores experience. Fully conversant with all stores procedures for example: goods in, picking, allocating, completing works orders, packing and despatch. This is likely to be in an engineering rather than warehouse background. Good communicator who is a detail person and highly numerate.
Ability to manage a team of up to 5.
Key Requirements:

1 To organise and supervise the efficient operation to specific stores area.
2 To ensure that all goods and items are correctly received and accounted for.
3 To ensure that goods to be sent out for sales orders are correctly picked, addressed, packed and despatched.
4 To ensure Production requirements are correctly picked and delivered to the relevant department in a timely manner.
5 Inform Materials Controllers of shortages promptly.
6 Ensure that team members and individuals perform to the required company standards of performance and behaviour.
7 Communicate clearly and effectively, both to various Departments and the Warehouse team.
8 Identify and recommend ways of improving work and performance.
9 Use company IT system, programmes and procedures to carry out work i.e. completing Works Orders, booking in deliveries etc.
10 Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the required Health and Safety Regulations and procedures.
11 Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members and colleagues.
12 Work as an effective team member and support other team members to achieve objectives.
13 To undertake any other duties which aid and assist in the smooth running of the business.
14 Set objectives and targets for the team.

The Warehouse Leading hand will be a salaried position so therefore overtime will not be paid. The chosen person will be expected to work the necessary hours to achieve the targets and help the business move forward to a successful future.
