Development Manager – EfW/Oil & Gas
London office based with travel to North East England
Competitive Salary + benefits

Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Development Manager to join our client who are a global organisation who are well established within the Renewables, Oil & Gas and Power Generation sectors.

This role will be overseeing a major Biorefinery project in North East England however, the position will be based out of their offices in London 4 days a week with occasional travel when required.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting into the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining all necessary consents including environmental permits and planning applications. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with 3rd parties, consultants and the Client’s technical team during the development of the planning and environmental permit applications
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies, local authorities, and commercial organisations to obtain information relevant to current applications, permits and future works
  • Obtaining all necessary wayleaves/easements, etc. and liaising and negotiating with landowners/landlords
  • Managing stakeholder engagement and negotiation with all third parties to hain agreements
  • Support and assist the UK Team in developing strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders
  • Support the development of new business strategies to expand opportunities within the waste management/biofuels sector
  • Lead the development of future biofuels or decarbonisation project opportunities with the UK and Europe
  • Work alongside the project team to identify, evaluate and select opportunities for bidding or acquisition

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Relevant qualification in Town planning, Engineering, Waste Management or Environmental Permitting.
  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar role, ideally within Energy from Waste/Power Generation/Oil & Gas sectors
  • Experience developing a Biofuels or refinery project would be advantageous.
  • Experience with feedstock supply contracts (i.e. Waste supply or waste processing)
  • Experience of biofuels / renewable fuels subsidy schemes such as the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) or latest BEIS business models
  • Experience negotiating and securing land which can be either acquisition or lease options
  • Excellent knowledge in town planning and environmental permitting legislation
