Support Worker
Ref: GM160
Location: Street, Somerset
£26,000 per year/£26,000 per year pro rata + excellent benefits
20 hours per week + potential for paid overtime

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker at our service in Street which offer care and activity services for adults with a learning disability. Working with people in their own homes and the community you will need a creative approach, actively enabling people to achieve a lifestyle of their choosing.

Your support will contribute to maximising the independent living skills of our service users getting involved in cooking, cleaning, shopping and leisure activities throughout the day as well as personal care. The ideal candidate will support in a pro-active, person centred manner and be enthusiastic and committed to their role. Candidates must be willing to work flexibly; as hours include early, late and sleep over shifts (additional payment is made for sleep over shifts). A car driver with use of your own transport is essential.

As well as a nationally recognised training programme within the charity sector we also provide excellent career development opportunities, attractive pension scheme, competitive holiday allowance, childcare vouchers and much more!

Experience is not as important as a willingness to learn and to see things from the point of view of the people we support. Full training will be provided. Good communication skills are essential as is IT literacy.

If you feel you have the qualities required to support people with a learning disability to gain independence and to reach their maximum potential, then we would love to hear from you.
