Salary: £36,600 per year
Our client is a leading manufacturer of CNC machinery for use in the wood manufacturing sector and due to their continued expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Junior Service Technician.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking planned preventive maintenance, duties at customer sites throughout the UK.
The Role:
Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for undertaking PPM’s on a wide range of CNC cutting, routing and milling machines.
Duties will include but is not limited to the following;
Planned maintenance, service and repair of 3 axis, 4 axis and 5 axis CNC machines and other machinery
Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement on broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ballscrews, planetary gear, rack & pinion, linear guide, guide carriage bearing, spindle motors
Oiling & greasing machines
Electrical – 400v/230v/24v AC/DC control.
Fault find electrical control panels
Providing operational training for customersCandidate:
Ideally you will be apprentice trained mechanical/electrical engineer holding a recognised NVQ 3 qualification(s).
You will have previous experience in maintenance and repair of machinery (cnc machine maintenance & repair advantage). However full training will be given.

Initially, shadowing experienced engineers you will receive training and develop the necessary skills required to progress into a qualified field service engineer role.
You will be happy to undertake frequent travel and stay away from home during the week.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 40 hours + OT
