Junior Graphic Designer

The Position:

This is a fantastic opportunity to get into a dynamic organisation where you can quickly be exposed to many different practical aspects of design and the commercial considerations that go with it.

You will meet clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job; interpret the client’s business needs and develop a concept to suit their purpose; estimate the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for clients.

You will also develop design briefs by gathering information and data through research; think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and work on layouts and artwork pages ready for print. Using innovation you will redefine design briefs within the constraints of cost and time and present finalised ideas and concepts to clients or account managers.

You will use content management systems to update client web sites, proof read and produce accurate and high-quality work and contribute ideas and design artwork to the overall brief demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches along the way.

The Person:

You will have the necessary qualifications, skills and knowledge to carry out this role and it’s essential that you have a working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and that you keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as QuarkXPress, FreeHand, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash. You will need experience of working with content management software and knowledge of CSS would be an advantage.

You will have excellent communications skills, very good attention to detail and a solid work ethic. You will be a team player and have the ability to work well on your own and produce high quality work under pressure.

This is a temporary to permanent role initially at £26,000per year depending upon skills and experience with a commencing salary of circa £26,000 per year when and if the role goes permanent. The working conditions are excellent and the atmosphere supportive and friendly.
