Daily rate: £480 – £528 per day

Expert JavaScript Front End Developer urgently required for a long term – 6 month contract in Southampton.

We are looking for an expert developer who can code JavaScript without reliance on JavaScript frameworks.

Description of role:

You can write clean, modular & production-quality JavaScript code
You are an expert in the above
You are an expert in building high traffic cross-browser based applications using JavaScript/jQuery/AJAX with CSS3/HTML5
You deliver highly-interactive, single-page web applications with sophisticated user interfaces that support desktop and mobile clients
You have experience in handling data in XML and JSON formats through REST APIs
You have an in-depth understanding of object-oriented web development approaches
You have an understanding of modern HTML design concepts such as Responsive Design
You have experience developing against Internet and Infrastructure Security principles
You are a skilled user of JavaScript unit testing frameworks (such as Jasmine) and work using TDD/BDD
You are a collaborative team player who is used to leading the technical delivery within an Agile Scrum development team
You have experience of formal source control and change control processes including Subversion/Git
You will have experience with Continuous Integration tools including Jenkins and automated testing using Selenium
You will have familiarity with all of the following: Linux, Apache httpd
Ideally, you have geospatial domain knowledge including WMS, WMTS, GeoJSON & OpenLayers

JavaScript – expert-level JavaScript development.
jQuery
HTML5/CSS3 with multi-channel cross-browser support
RESTful web services
XML – data interchange using XML content
JSON – data exchange using JSON Objects.
TDD/BDD – test- or behaviour-driven development approaches
Subversion/Git version control systems
Jenkins continuous integration and delivery approaches
