An exciting opportunity has arisen for a UK EHS (Environment Health & Safety) Officer to work for a global telecoms company based in the Hampshire area on a 12 month contract.

The role of an EHS Officer will require you to carry out the following –
*To be responsible for ensuring legislative compliance for the UK site in respect of Environment, Health & Safety Legislation including, but not limited to:
oEnsuring appropriate licences/ registrations are kept and are up-to-date;
oConducting risk assessments and follow-up actions as required;
oWorking on continuous improvements to workplace safety and the Health & Safety culture at the sites/within the staff population;
oServing as a key contact for any EHS audits or inspections (internal and external);
oPerforming the annual EHS compliance audit;
oManaging the relationship with the external Occupational Health Service Provider, including arranging Health Surveillance/Health Assessments for employees performing specific job tasks;
*Manage and maintain an EHS management system certified by ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
*To meet budget targets; ensuring that relevant purchase orders are raised, approved and received as necessary
*To work with relevant business functions to complete EHS requirements on Bid and Quote process
*To work with 3rd party Facilities service provider to achieve EHS goals (e.g. energy reduction and recycling targets etc.)
*To work with Country Leadership Team on EHS projects (carbon reduction, long driving hours/distances etc.)
*To support Customer Projects (e.g. Commonwealth Games) with EHS experience.

The successful candidate will be an experienced EHS Officer, ideally with NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or similar and should ideally have some level of IOSH membership.
