Magnetic has exciting permanent opportunities with a dynamic and progressive independent healthcare provider in Cardiff, currently seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic RMNs, RNLDs and RGNs to the MDT, in a specialist low secure hospital for people with complex mental health issues, including personality disorder, eating disorders, substance misuse and forensic histories.
The vacancies have arisen due to increasing nurse to patient ratios, including general nurses in order to provide a 360 degree nursing service, for both mental health and physical nursing needs. There are posts available to work on male and female wards, and experience from a variety of settings is welcomed. They will cross train all nurses to gain extra skills to complement their portfolio
They have a very large MDT based on site, who the nursing team work extremely close with. The MDT includes 4 psychologists plus assistants, 2 full time OT plus 4 OT Assistants, 4 Social Workers, and 3 Consultant Psychiatrists. The nursing team comprises of a Clinical Nurse Lead, 2 Clinical Nurse Specialists, Ward Managers, Senior Staff Nurses and Staff Nurses, and then Support Workers.
Staff Nurses have a fully hands on role, undertaking Primary Nurse duties, care and treatment plans, risk assessment, group work, and preparing nurse reports for and attending Clinical Team Meetings, Tribunals and other professional meetings.
Shifts are long days and nights currently, but they are looking at introducing shorter shifts, to enable a more flexible working life and a full 2 week induction is provided including Control and Restraint training, plus an extensive list of other training courses

Person specification
RMN/RGN/RNLD qualified
Post-preceptorship ideally, but newly-qualified nurses with the right training in this setting will be considered.
