Quality Inspector – Nuneaton
Permanent
£36,000 per annum
The primary purpose is to support manufacturing processes with first, in process and last off visual, cosmetic, dimensional inspection of products, with sample inspection based on risk which is defined by customer, quantity, historical complaints/issues etc.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- To highlight quality issues with any products and report to the relevant team Leader, Dept. Manager before despatch and to assist in the investigation into why the quality problem may have arisen.
- To capture data as needed in order to help maintain accurate quality records and statistics.
- To carry out quality inspection ensuring critical dimensions are achieved and ensuring the products match the relevant job documentation.
- To monitor measurement equipment to ensure it remains fit for purpose and calibrated and keep all calibration documentation up to date.
- To support the Quality team prior to internal and external audits.
- Aid in creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications, skills & experience:
Essential:
- Able to operate a CMM machine along with industry standard hand measuring equipment.
- Ideally experienced in use of Power inspect software.
- Experience in first article inspection to ‘ballooned’ drawing.
- Experienced inspector working within engineering and ideally composites industry.
- Knowledge of engineering inspection/measurement equipment and ability to use such equipment,
- Knowledge of tolerancing and standards (GD&T).
- Ability to read drawings and work with 3D data.
- Excellent communication skills, timekeeping, and reliability.
- Good computer literacy as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable:
- Experience in ISO certifications within a production manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, composites, and paint processes
- Internal Auditing experience
Full time, permanent role working 7.30am – 4.00pm Mon to Thurs, 7.30am – 12.30pm Friday
