Materials Manager

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

Materials Manager | £35,000 – £40,000

I am currently recruiting for a Northwest based company that produce market leading low volume electronic products.
As a Materials manager you will be managing the materials team and working to create sustainable supply chains for the purchasing of materials in line with the business requirements

Role:

Day to day Management of the Materials team
Management of suppliers and setting of appropriate KPIs.
Review purchasing strategies
Maintain stock holding to agreed minimum levels
Work with Manufacturing, Production Support, Sales and R&D teams to ensure quality, price, on time delivery of raw materials
Evaluate current supplier base and work with the team to ensure best price, support and quality required of raw materials
Attend team meetings, and feedback to the team any required communication or actions
Manage and develop the Stores function including looking at new/improving existing systems of material storage 
Requirements:
 

Comprehensive understanding of electronics buying
Minimum 5 years commercial experience in an electronics manufacturing / buying / procurement function
Degree level education
Working with subcontract manufacturers in the UK and offshore.
In depth experience of MRP and supply chain
Proven negotiation skills and knowledge of establishing supplier agreements/pricing strategies
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage own workload
Effective time management and the ability to meet varying/tight deadlines 
Desirables:

Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Level 4
Purchasing of complex PCBAs
